Chief Executive Francois Provost, who was appointed last year following the shock departure of Luca de Meo to Kering, said Thursday the company would outline its strategy aimed at growing the business and bolstering resilience at an investor update next month.
The Paris-based luxury giant is looking to turn around the fortunes of its core Gucci brand while recently appointed Chief Executive Luca de Meo designs a comeback plan for the broader group, which, like many of its rivals, is contending with a downturn in spending.
“The performance in 2025 does not reflect the group’s true potential,” de Meo said Tuesday.
In a surprise appointment, former Renault boss Luca de Meo took the group’s reins as CEO last year, while Gucci is onto its third chief in less than 18 months after Francesca Bellettini took over in October.
Luca De Meo, chief executive of luxury giant Kering, praised him as "an exceptional creator" who "embodied a sense of style that has profoundly shaped our collective imagination".
